Cooling Down Your Car in Abilene

It’s summertime and the sun is shining hot! It’s also about the time your ac will inconveniently stop working. Not having AC in the summertime while driving down the freeway can be exhausting and smothering with very few ways of making your trip survivable. Sure, you will get your AC fixed. But, until you do, it is likely you will have to do some driving for your daily activities. Here are some ways to cool you off that you might not have thought of.

Drive During Cooler Times

If at all possible, try traveling during the morning hours and evening hours, avoiding the hottest part of the day.

Roll Down the Windows

Before AC in cars was even a thing, rolling down the windows didn’t bother most people. If it’s not an awfully hot day, rolling down the windows feels great with the breeze through your hair.

Cooling car seats are a huge way to reduce your body temperature, even if you can’t get your vehicle temperature down as much as you like. You can find many different brands that are fairly inexpensive. Check out these cooling car seat cushions that will do the trick.

Recharge the AC

While this might not work forever, try recharging your AC and you’ll experience immediate relief. Your AC might even feel brand new again. Here are several car AC recharging kits that will work, and is super easy to do.

Bring a Cooler of Drinks

If you’re traveling along distance without an AC, make sure you bring an ice chest full of drinks. You can even snag some of the ice and put down your shirt to give you a chill.
