The Texas Truck Rodeo is a time-honored tradition in the auto industry and spans for two days. Throughout the two days, both trucks and sport utility vehicles are pitted against each other and evaluated by twenty-seven Texas auto writers who then cast their votes about which vehicle has the best performance both on-and-off-road. Only the toughest, most rugged, and well-made vehicles come out on top. This year, both Ram and Dodge vehicles came out on top in their class, and we couldn't be more excited about it! Ram 1500 Performance
For the third year in a row, the 2021 Ram 1500 beat out all the rest at the Texas Truck Rodeo and won its title as the Truck of Texas. The event is hosted by the Texas Automotive Writers Association and takes place annually. This year, not only did the Ram 1500 stay the reigning champ of Truck of Texas, but was also awarded top marks in Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas, Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, and Off-road pickup Truck of Texas! It's no surprise that at 702-horsepower the Ram 1500 TRX was gliding and climbing over every articulation with grace and ease, but it is always a nice testament to hard work and dedication when comparing the other brands to Ram.
Dodge Hellcat Performance
When the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat stepped up to the challenge, it outperformed all other SUV's as well! In the past eight years, Dodge Durango has managed to pull out the top award for Full-size SUV six times, and this year was no different! The Dodge Durango was awarded the crown in SUV of Texas, and Full-size SUV of Texas, beating out all other SUVs in its class! Powering full steam ahead with 710 horsepower, 8,700-pound towing capacity, and the ability to overtake most sports cars in the race from 0-60 miles per hour, the Dodge Durango was the sure-fire winner in performance.
