What engines are available?
When you purchase a RAM, you expect a certain amount of power, and the 2021 RAM 1500 has it in spades. Most trims come with a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes standard with an eTorque system that helps improve the fuel economy. Optional in most trims and standard on the Limited is a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 395 horsepower and an impressive 410 lb-ft of torque. The RAM also has a diesel engine, and it's a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that rips out 260 horsepower and a terrific 480 lb-ft of torque. The all-new TRX gets its own powerful engine, and it's a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that pounds the pavement with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Each engine gets a smooth sailing eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear or four-wheel-drive.
What are some features for the RAM 1500?
RAM is dedicated to bringing you technologically advanced features, and the 2021 version of the RAM 1500 comes with seven trims levels filled with them. Starting things out is the base Tradesman, which comes with 18-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, trailer sway damping, and a 5-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker stereo. Next up is the Big Horn, which comes with an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Want to take your RAM 1500 off-road? RAM provides two trims dedicated to luxury, known as the Laramie and the Longhorn, which come with power mirrors, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and side steps reclining heated rear seats with under storage, and a spray-in bedliner with in-bed lighting. The Limited takes things a step further with a standard 5.7-liter V8 engine and 12-inch touchscreen, four-corner air suspension, wireless charging pad, and premium leather bucket seats. New this year is the TRX trim, which comes with a head-up display, reverse steering control, and RamBox cargo storage.
What are some of the safety features?
Your safety is important to RAM both on and off the road, which is why each trim comes with a ton of safety systems. Coming standard is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System, which scans all the blind spot areas for vehicles and helps you make safer lane changes. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control System, which allows the driver to maintain a pre-selected distance between the RAM and the traffic ahead. The last system we will talk about is the Lane Keeping Assist System, which can keep the RAM in between the painted lines if it happens to drift.
