The Jeep Cherokee is one of the best SUVs on the market today. After all, it's capable on the trail, comfortable on the highway, and better looking than most other SUVs out there. Those who are looking for more than just a luxurious crossover that can tackle rocks are going to be pleasantly surprised with the 2020 Cherokee. It boasts a ton of wonderful tech-features, a sporty nature, some powerful engines, and class-leading numbers when it comes to towing. Both the turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 engines are active performers, and they both come with the option of several all-wheel-drive systems. Inside the cabin, you will find some technological marvels such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are even several safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Engine Options
The Jeep Cherokee comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Optional on all trims is a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. All engines come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. If you opt for the Trailhawk, all-wheel-drive comes standard; all other trims have the option of front-wheel or all-wheel-drive.
Latitude and Latitude Plus
Starting things off is the Latitude trim, which comes with 17-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, two USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system. The Latitude also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Stepping up to the Latitude Plus adds simulated-leather inserts in the upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. On the safety front, the Latitude Plus comes with a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and passive keyless entry with push-button starting. Several options are also available, including an auxiliary household power outlet, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Limited
The Limited provides you with most of the Latitudes options as well as leather upholstery, an upgraded driver display in the gauge cluster, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Also standard is a nine-speaker audio system. The Limited and above also have the option of a Technology package that adds full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, traffic-adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic wipers, and automatic high-beam headlights. Also included is an automated parking system that works on both parallel and perpendicular spots.
Overland
Next up is the Overland, which comes with sound-deadening windshield and front windows, driver-seat memory functions, wood inserts, upgraded leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a navigation system. You also get a unique body-colored exterior trim and HD radio.
Trailhawk
More off-road features are available on the Trailhawk. It comes with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels and all-terrain tires, increased ground clearance, off-road-oriented suspension tuning, a locking rear differential, hill ascent, and descent control, skid plates, tow hooks, and unique upholstery.
